     Rachel felt ready to doze off after wandering for hours in some ruins. She had no idea where she was, only that she tried to reach the Professor when she jumped back in time. She arrived in some sort of wasteland that reminded her all too much of her own world. Was the whole world in ruins, she didn’t know. She just wanted a place to rest.

okay so imagine Alex got sucked into the portal and landed somewhere in Cairo, but by the time he woke up the fight was over and he’s just wandering around confused

then he finds the local police holding guns to Warren, who’s just regaining consciousness and still trapped in the plane wreckage

so Alex’s instincts kick in and he blasts them away, helps Warren out, even though he knows this was his ‘enemy’- fuck enemies though, as if Alex has ever really invested in the idea of having foes that aren’t humans experimenting on his kind- and
