I'm so excited you made this! I've always been interested in this stuff. I was wondering if you could talk a bit about the economy of the rare familiars (like the kickstarters and sprites and bosses). Also how does roundsey throwing 5 new light sprites into the economy randomly effect that or does it? Yeah familiar economics.

I don’t know much about the rare familiar economy! Hopefully someone else can comment on that.

Though I can say, I’m actually not sure 5 extra Light Sprites will change things too much. Like in theory it should, but if the winners of those sprites just keep them to themselves it won’t change the selling price much. There are as of this writing 2 Light Sprites on the AH. If 5 more were put up for sale, then yes, the price would go down, but I’m guessing most if not all of the winners will hold on to the sprites. Even if a couple were listed on the AH, the price would only drop until they were bought. Items as rare as Light Sprites don’t change hands often so overall the value would probably be fairly stable.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think you can get the sprites from Joxar’s chests. So no more will enter the economy (except through Roundsey, I guess). However, some will be lost due to account abandonment. This is almost certainly a reason why they’re so rare to begin with, because many of the people who got them originally stopped playing and the familiars are stuck in their accounts. So limited quantity familiars, like the sprites or KS ones, (or any other item for that matter, like Scattersights) will probably go up in value over time.

I suspect that the price of boss familiars will drop very gradually over time if more of them enter the economy (through overall accumulation due to the coli grinding) rather than exit it. There may also be temporary price drops when certain coli venues are spotlighted. For example, when Patchwork/Stitched came out, people needed to grind in Redrock Cove for the materials, so all the familiars from there would have experienced a temporary price drop.

This is just speculation, though. I would be interested to see a graph of boss familiar prices over time.

Note: I only read the summary and didn’t look at the word count before reading this one and thought I was in for a 1-2k fluff fest. It turned out to be an even better fic than I was expecting, making me laugh out loud more than once and, while still fluffy, it actually goes a bit deeper and hits on the feels too. It’s one of those fics where you know you’ve found something good just from the first few lines and I love the way the author has captured Stiles' personality!

Note: When I first started reading Sterek, I devoured every Office AU I could find but I don’t think I’ve read any since. This one has definitely reminded me what I love about this AU so I’m going to have to hunt down some new ones! It’s a prime example of Derek needing to use his words and I love the pack all working in the same office.

Note: This is another one for the Derek feels. I loved the sentiment and actually got a bit teary-eyed at the end. The flashback to teenage Derek trying to be cool is adorable, as is how it ties into the present day. There’s something about Stiles’ manner in his dialogue that kept making me laugh, as did Derek’s bemusement in the face of it all.
