Today at work my friend (coworker that fixed my 3ds) was telling me she and her husband finally found out where they will be moving to Japan. It’s a work related thing from his side and that’s why they needed to be informed just where they’d be living for the next year.

Anyway she was telling me how places in Japan have their own mascots? And the island where they’ll be going, the mascot is Shimaneko. As you can guess, it’s a cat. And she was telling me how he’s a yellow cat, that has a roof for a hat, because of a popular temple there I think?

And she told me a few times all excitable.

And I went.

“So he’s a cat with a roof for a hat?

Yes!

So...he’s a house cat :B”

EVERYONE in my office laughed, but she’s known me for a year+ so I just saw like

all the friendship drain from her face slowly

And as the laugher subsided I went “SEEE, I’M FUNNY”

And she just, trying not to crack that smile of ‘i hate you but also ur my friend gdi’ went “Well, I’m glad you have people here that think you’re funny and like your puns” and walked out
