Hussey Braves Sketchy St Vincent Bus Trip, Blasts Local Infrastructure

Test aspirant David Hussey has spoken out on the harrowing bus ride he was forced to take to training in St Vincent ahead of Friday's opening ODI against the West Indies. And the veteran batsman has launched a bewildering offensive against the tiny Caribbean island, accusing its government of neglecting the need for road infrastructure upgrades over the past three decades. A series of feeder roads were built from the coastal area inland to facilitate the movement of agricultural products to the markets and to serve numerous inland communities," the spokesperson explained. "But more specifically, who gives a fuck about what some battler from Melbourne's eastern suburbs who's played a handful of one-day-internationals has to say about our road infrastructure and constitutional monarchy." Punt Road Napoleone Vineyard Shiraz, Yarra Valley 2012 $29

Punt Road owners, the Napoleone family, have extensive vineyards of 190 hectares at Coldstream, and winemaker Kate Goodman dispenses excellent wines at some of the Yarra’s most attractive prices.

This is a modern Yarra shiraz style, moderate in both alcohol and ripeness, enhanced with some whole-bunch fermentation, and the result is a complex, fascinating medium-bodied red. The sweetly spicy aromas invoke red and blue fruits, plus a leathery note, probably from stalks. The fruit expression is excellent, with a fruit-sweet mid-palate and clean tannins firming the finish. It’s stylish, long and refined, and already drinks remarkably well. Now to 2025. 13 per cent alcohol. 94/100 (Huon's Wine 360)
