Monkey Gym

A/N: by request of @glass-trash-bab I have written the silly sonas once more, with a little Pip because hell yeah

Pip held onto the pencil with slippery puppet hands, swinging back and forth over P’s basket of papers. It was being so careful, doing pull ups and swinging on it like it was a monkey bar, but suddenly its grip loosened and it went tumbling down, the papers flying everywhere.

Its current keeper and his partner were at work, or so Pip thought as it tried to start cleaning the pages—some which had fallen off the desk, how was it supposed to get those back up here?!—when it heard the front door open and close, and footsteps headed towards the office.

Pip jumped from the desk and crawled into its bag to hide, curling into the corner.

Bab stepped into the office, curiosity written over their face as they saw the scattered pages, before a big smile took up their features. “Pip? It’s Bab, you can come out.”

At the silence, Bab’s brow furrowed and they leaned down and started picking up the papers, while Pip lifted itself up and peeked out of the bag, then climbed back out through the hole.

It tried to sneak past them, but they were silent as they turned around, and suddenly it was up in the air within a soft hand, and it pouted.

They smiled at it, a cheerful and friendly gleam in their eyes. “Evening, Pip! It’s okay. Those weren’t important papers, anyway. Just some extra stuff he brought home.” Pip didn’t meet their eyes with his button ones until they booped where its nose would be playfully.

“I promise, he won’t be mad. Come on, you can sit on my shoulder while I clean up and then we can go on the computer."

They moved their hand with it in it to set it on their shoulder where they gripped the fabric tightly, a small smile back on its face as they put the papers back and eyed its pencil bar contraption with humour.

"You're so cute," they mumbled, moving it just to the side and sitting at the computer, talking to it while it booted up.

When P came home a couple of hours later, he watched them, unbeknownst to the pair, with a smile of his own. He only briefly questioned the, now bigger, pencil obstacle course along the side of his desk.
