He didn’t think this would happen to someone he knew.

Joel stopped at her locker. It was close to his and he frowns, placing a hand upon the metal surface. He… knew that she had liked him. He didn’t think it would go this far though.

He’d started dating someone else and apparently that didn’t settle well with Julia. Joel didn’t think she obsessed over him, but obviously she didn’t know about Zacharie if she had been so attached. Upon finding out that he was ultimately more interested in guys and still dating another dude, she left a note on his locker saying that she would always love him.

The girls’ bathroom on the east hallway was closed off due to her committing suicide inside. Blood was stained all over the room, on the stalls, in the sinks, and on the mirrors. She’d written things out and her body was found with multiple cuts across her arms, legs, and ultimately she must have fallen onto the knife she had.

Her body had fallen from the sink she used as leverage, blood pooling and if she hadn’t died from her airways being blocked from blood then it was likely from blood loss. Red drips down into the center drain of the room, and Joel somehow feels like it’s his fault for what happened.

… Even though there wasn’t much he could have done to stop it.

She can’t help but give a little chuckle at his grumbles as she fiddles with the silly looking fake ring that had been put on her finger. She finds it even more amusing that the teacher actually went so far out with this little project. She never would have expected it would be required for the pairs to assume being “married.” She already knows she’s probably going to receive little teases from her friends later on about this as well.

She smiles a little at his question. “Helping at least from time to time would be nice..? I mean..taking care of a baby can’t be too hard, but..d-doing it alone isn’t really preferable..” that, and if he didn’t participate in taking care of the child, the teacher might grade him a little more harshly. It would probably actually be better for him and his grade if he helped out—even if only a few times.

He sighs heavily and props his elbow up onto the table, cheek in his palm as he watches her mess with the ring. Not that he didn't mind being paired up with Julia for this 'project' but it was still a pain in the ass. A week, though... That shouldn't be too hard right? Hopefully.

He looks at the paper where they're supposed to record when they feed it or burp it or... whatever the fuck else they're supposed to do with it. Change its diaper? It didn't actually piss everywhere, did it? He scrunches his nose just at the thought of it crying randomly. He didn't want to take it home. "Yeah... I guess I have to, but I might forget about it if I take it home with me." Still even calling the baby an 'it.'

Married for a week

"I hate babies." He grumbles, sitting next to Julia at the table with a baby carrier with one of the fake electronic dolls sitting in it. "Do you really want me to try and take care of this thing?" It didn’t help that whoever they were paired up with, they had to pretend to be married to. Little plastic rings to match. 25 cents. Yep.

He looks terrible, and she begins to think she was probably stupid for asking him if he was alright. He’s even missing one of his four eyes! Who could’ve possibly—wait. Four eyes. That’s new. That’s new, and highly unnerving. Even more unnerving is the sudden sense of danger she starts to get when he grabs onto her shoulder. Confusion mixes in with it—why is she getting this sense from him? “…J-Joel…?” Something’s wrong. Something’s very, very wrong, yet she doesn’t have the sense to stand up and run away. No, she’s too busy being confused and worried.

He pulls her closer so that she can see fully beneath his cap. His head tips to the side and he observes her, thoughts going through what he could possibly do with such a catch as this. To be so conveniently offered someone so pure and innocent as soon as he'd changed? There's a moment where he fully intends to confuse her further, his other hand grasping the opposite shoulder and pulling her forward into a mock embrace. One hand stays at the back of her head and the other wraps around her waist to keep her in place. "Julia." The Batter hadn't forgotten her name, no, but he was going to use these things to his advantage. "I need your help." Always looking out for himself and no one else, she was expendable in his eyes. "I need to get out of here."

She'd planned to give him a surprise visit, and just be around him for a while. What she didn't expect, however, was to find him the way he was. "O-oh my God! Joel, what happened to you?? Are you alright??" Julia exclaimed, rushing over to him and getting onto her knees beside him, her expression showing every ounce of her concern.

There’s a jerk from the figure by the wall as he is abruptly awoken from his dreamless slumber, eyes opening and his head turning toward the girl. Her silhouette burns with a bright white fog, causing him to squint his eyes as she comes closer. But… 

He grins to himself, a hand reaching out to grab onto her left shoulder. "What a pleasant surprise," he drawls out. He shifts so he’s sitting normally with his knees up, looking over to her and canting his head. "Convenient," he murmurs to himself.

*leaves a box of meat before returning to her file*

He blinks and takes the box, sitting in the corner with it and leaning against the wall as he chews on some of the cuts. Finally. Food.

7. A needy/hungry kiss.

When there's too much alcohol involved and you're not even sure if you've touched a girl in the past couple of months at all, there's a point in time where the dim light coming from under the closet door accents everything just right to where she looks like she needs him to kiss her.

Hands hold onto her slimmer shoulders and the batter presses a somewhat sloppy (sideways), forceful kiss to her glossed, raspberry flavored lips. Why this sticks out to him the most he isn't too sure, but he takes full advantage of the full seven minutes they are allowed and what begins as awkwardly placed kisses turns into more heated saliva-swapping and twisting tongues.

... Believe it or not it might look like Joel was more out of breath than Julia by the time someone opened the door.

Your muse sitting on my muse’s knee

It was during class when it happened. Everyone was chatting and it was the day before Christmas break started so nobody was really working anyway. The teachers didn’t care and just let the class do what they wanted for the most part. Everyone was talking to each other and the room was a noisy mess.

A group of girls were chatting close by and suddenly one of them hides her face in her hands with a huge blush on her face. Apparently they were playing truth or dare and most of them had been truth so far, thus the insane giggling and laughter from them during class. But finally someone had chosen dare and it was the small awkward girl (who was dared to chose dare actually so she felt obligated), and she awkwardly gets up and she looks like she’s about to cry in embarrassment.

Joel was sitting sideways in the chair anyway while talking to someone else and she approaches him slowly, hands fidgeting and the blush still present on her face. She makes an awkward attempt to get his attention by waving a hand but when that didn’t work, she went ahead and did what she was told to do.

She moved herself in front of him and sat on one of his knees. The conversation had stopped right there and Joel really wasn’t sure what was going on. He didn’t want to shove her off, that was rude, but he did gently nudge her shoulder with a hand while asking what she was doing.

“It -- it was a d-dare!” She practically cried as she hid her face in her hands once more. Before Joel could even object, she was up and quickly walking out of the classroom.

He blinked and glared at the group of girls who were laughing in hysterics nearby. He gets up to follow after Julia, sneering a, “I dare you all to use the men’s bathroom during recess,” to the group. He excuses himself from class and goes after the other girl, at least wanting to talk to her and help her feel better.
