This year has been crazy so far, and it's only (almost) halfway over. Even though where I live doesn't see a lot of the craziness, it still gets overwhelming sometimes. I've been trying to keep/recover my momentum when it comes to my artwork, but I've been having some trouble emotionally (at least part of which is because my momentum is suffering; gotta love vicious cycles). So, yeah, expect my next few pieces to be a bit slower than normal. They'll probably also be fanart, because it's comfortable and I need that at the moment. On a lighter note, I've been looking forward to doing this Fakemon for a while. It's silly, it's fun, and I couldn't just not throw a potato into the roster somewhere. Also, this time around I decided to make a 'Dex background for my Fakemon going forward. Mostly because Instagram hates transparent backgrounds. Basically, I made a template in Illustrator, so all I have to do is stick the drawing in there, type some stuff in, and swap out some symbols for other symbols. Took me long enough, but at least I only had to do it from scratch once. What do you think of it?

Gday doc. My dog got savaged by another dog tonight-- no worries, hes at the vets now undergoing surgery tonight. I was wondering if you knew anything re: the owner of the dog 'responsible' for injury paying for expenses. Is there a legal requirement for them to cover it, or is it a goodwill thing? Are there options for tracking people down in the case that they havent provided their details to us? My parents are poor and while i dont argue the price of care, its going to be a blow to them. Ty<3

Well you are in Australia, so unfortunately not, the owner of the attacking dog is not under any obligation to pay, especially if you didn’t get any of their details at the time. Unless you get very lucky with your local council already being aware of the problem dog, there isn’t a way for you to track them.

If you do have contact details, report them to the council anyway.

Many owners of attacking dogs will volunteer to pay some or all of the vet bills because it makes them look better if the case goes to court, as it might. Local councils typically take dangerous dogs very seriously.

But unfortunately, it’s purely a goodwill thing here.
