I hope you like these two, though I send them your way based on vibes alone XD For the poor Briar, their story with their old god is still mostly unknown but I feel like "Feast" by Firewoodisland could fit their circumstances. I know you said this is based on vibes alone, but this fits Briar so terribly well, and I can't get into it entirely, but this conveys the feelings they endured the first night they were fleeing through the rain and mud to Klyta's temple, and they felt so alone! A perfect little song for Briar, ah!

This fits Eclipse so well later in the fic! A fear of vulnerability but also a question of love—a bit of contempt and concern for Briar who is so open and defenseless! I won't say anymore, but these lines especially speak to his situation <3

Hiya Naff and @jackofallrabbits !! <3 I read part 4 late last night and I have been happily rolling around kicking my feet I'm so excited for the bigger glimpses of the characters' backstory and lore XD I am so happy, and I wanted to share another music time with you both!

"I'll Never Leave You Alone" by The Staves! The song is a lot slower and softer than the boys have been this whole time but the longing/yearning in it makes me think of them, especially with the though of the boys knowing about Y/N before they died and hoping and dreaming about their love and saviour. I hope you both like it! <3

Regarding the monster boyfriends, I think you mentioned in tags before how Grease likes leave stains on MC's apron to which Hawthorn does the nuzzle rubs to override it with his scent- I keep imagining Calmo holding MC's doubly stained and messy apron and cleaning it as his contribution to the dibs-ing. Kinda like the three of them make a fun kind of rock-paper-scissors of 'mine' with MC. XD

Oh my gosh, yes! That's perfect because Calmo takes over a lot of chores for MC while he's at home. His finding yet another dirty apron of MC's makes Calmo crackle with the need to show those other two who MC belongs. So, he gets his best cleaners and strongest bleach and gets to work to make MC's apron shine and all nice and pretty again, smelling like lemons and something a little metallic but don't worry about that. MC is just happy to have clean clothes again until MC is confronted by a very upset Grease and distressed Hawthorn. They just have to get rid of that smell—and MC realizes what Calmo's really doing. MC isn't necessarily surprised, just very unamused by the 'mine' game.

Psst Naff, can I offer up two more mer ideas for Orca-Eclipse and his birdies? >:3c

With humpback y/n, imagine Y/N catches wind of some of their pod ganging up to bother a certain Orca. While Eclipse is down to fight, he gets surprised to find himself yoinked to safety and carried away from the baffled whalemers in a turn around of how y/n used to snatch his meals from him. It takes a moment before he slips straight into pleased smugness as y/n teases back that they're just grabbing themselves a little snack.

And for selkie/seal mer with a fluffball baby, y'know Eclipse's 'happy day' motto? What if the seal kid starts teaching Eclipse how to banana pose like happy seals do? Then whenever he greets them, they banana pose back to show they're happy to see him. ;v;

Augh, that's adorable!! The teasing and the swooping in—a little thank you for rescuing Y/N from being breached on the ice! I'm also just chomping on the image of Eclipse oh-so delighted to have Humpback!Y/N at his rescue and tossing in a little flirt! They're supposed to be enemies, but not if Y/N keeps talking like that.

The banana pose!!! Ah, I love that!!

I imagine the first time that selkie Y/N's kid does the banana pose, Eclipse is just ??? another cute seal thing :) but Y/N is overjoyed and ecstatic like "That's her first banana pose! That's her first—oh, my baby!" and it's a really sweet moment they all get to share (after Y/N explains its meaning). Then, whenever the baby grows old enough and understands "Happy day!" the kid is banana posing for her papa every chance she gets and he adores it so much!

For ribbon seal mer Y/N, little baby mer gets to teach and asks Eclipse to do banana poses, which results in a large, terrifying figure of an orca siren being so silly and playful with the kid (baby mer tells Eclipse he doesn't do it very well. He laughs and agrees, but he says he's happy to do it with his little one.) It would also ease seal mer Y/N a lot to see Eclipse so indulgent with your (their) tiny fluffball.

Hiya Naff- I just had it pop into my head thinking about both Apex Polarity and Cardinal Instinct. I think I remember you saying you were familiar with Hadestown a while back, but if Orca Eclipse was Orpheus at the beginning first seeing his Birdie/Eurydice XD This one! "Don't come on too strong," he thinks to himself before Eclipse swims over to his Birdie and immediately, first thing out of his mouth, "COME HOME WITH ME?"

Hiya Naff!! This song suddenly popped into my head and I thought you might like it for Devil Eyes Eclipse :3 "My Boy Builds Coffins" by Florence and the Machine. Maybe if the detective ever bends to Eclipse's influence, or just the thought of so long as the detective has Eclipse's attention, he's theirs as much as they are his.

Oh, another bop from Florence and the Machine (and Plum :)) for an AU! I love the haunting folky tune to this, especially considering Eclipse's line of 'work.' If Eclipse is building coffins, then one day, he will have his officer fill them. It is the only way he will see it go, whether or not the officer agrees.
