My burningvanilla/purespice takes place after beast yeast.
That's why PV is mostly awakened in my purespice art. If I draw him pre awakened with bsc, its just cuz im lazy 😭 haha
In this what-if AU, the ancients and beasts form an alliance to combat Dark Enchantress. BSC would be the most disgruntled about this out of all of the beasts post- beast yeast. Even SMC is more receptive to joining with the Ancients (but that wouldn't stop his snarky and loud personality though).
While BSC will never truly be the Herald of Change again, he's no longer the Great Destroyer either. This newfound clarity and duality would cause some uncomfortable dissonance for BSC as he grapples to take responsibility for the horrible things he's done.
BSC would harbor guilt and shame over how he treated GCC. He wouldn't show it outwardly, and would probably even be in denial for a while after the alliance was formed. I like to think that GCC has resolve strong enough to put her reservations and past grievances to the side for the sake of cookiekind. She figures she could always put him in his place again should he try some funny shit.
Throughout their budding friendship/situationship, it'd be PVC who gives BSC gentle nudges to confront the situation and eventually, sincerely, apologize to GCC.
Their dynamic to me is that BSC is someone who genuinely wants to be a better person but is so rough around the edges and, deep down, is afraid to be vulnerable.
PVC embraces and envelops him in compassion, making him feel a way he has never felt before.
PVC makes BSC feel like he's almost worthy of redemption.... almost
