Ann Hechle (Bath, UK), broadsheets on the intersection of language and letterforms 1970s. # I can't even begin to tell how much I love Ann Hechle's work... I wish someone would publish a retrospective. I've found very very little online... # In some ways she's is the most influential teacher I've had, yet I only spent one short afternoon with her in Bath during the time I was studying with Ieuan Rees in south Wales. # Ieuan's lessons, of course, shaped my very way of seeing, of understanding the relationship between figure and ground. # But Ann's work resonates with sound and stories and the reverberating word, and meaning.... Not about 'perfect form' but about authentic, real letters, serving real meaning. This beauty is not skin deep. # See the whole album here https://photos.app.goo.gl/l9gZXZIQ1sQf7s6y2 Please leave a comment there!
