Language peeps of tumblr! Big assist requested for figuring out what is painted on the side of this spinning wheel? The gothic script is making it extra difficult. This wheel is probably Norwegian in origin, but could also be Finnish or Swedish based on several key characteristics of its design that tie it to that region. The last two words might be fufër goty? Unknown. 🥲 Any help is much appreciated as I'm working on restoring this lovely.
Edit: someone in tags caught the fufër is a tytër for daughter in Finnish, so we might be a Finnish wheel after all!
Edit 2: was able to decipher enough that it is probably Fraktur Blackletter!
Edit 3: So far we have S-i--- J/I--- tytër(or tutër?) ---- 1884 figured out for blackletter font. There's a lot of repeating vowels and everyone trying seems to agree this is a pretty rough handwriting adding to the difficulty. Pretty sure the second word starts with a J but could be an I. Running theory at Juha as a name?!
In the depths of the Ice Palace, beneath the ground, there is a trick you can do. It requires luck, skill, and a healthy fear of the unknown.
You'll find yourself staring at a deep darkness, an endless abyss just beyond a doorframe. But sometimes... the Abyss stares back.
A truly colossal being of ungraspable size. Just beyond the usual darkner, far darker, and much further from reality. And it wants to exist, by whatever means possible.
Fraktur is our shadowboss for WM's Chapter 5, in the snow fortress. They are special among shadowbosses by virtue of being a Goner, a native resident to the Abyss.
The battle will partly take place on top of them. The player will hop across flying bones with the Blue SOUL mode.
Insofar, we don't have a lot prepared for Fraktur (as opposed to the Blossoms or Lillian), but you will still see them as a future battle in Pantheon of the Discarded. Please pay witness to the concept art we have to show.
Some previous names we thought for Fraktur:
Silverdrake
Titandrake
Bonedrake
Gonerdrake
(We were really adamant on the Drake part, or at least until we came up with Fraktur)
This marks the end of what we have to show for Fraktur, and thus the end of our shadowboss showcases. Thank you for reading and accompanying thus far! We hope you will like confronting these characters in our fangame Pantheon of the Discarded.
And... Stay tuned for some big news very shortly...
DON'T click through this if you're coming to our Christmas dinner!!!!!!!
I made this card for my friends and I wanted to post it here but I also don't want to spoil the surprise lol
I also wrote more cards with this design to mail to friends and family interstate, but I only bedazzled this one card, on a whim :) The multi-line designs are called cadels and the initials are based on specific historical designs with some modifications.
Some fic lines in Fraktur! This was last weekend’s practice and I like them all so much they’re still washied up on a wall. I saw today is Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day (!) so let us APPRECIATE fic writers, every day and more than ever before. ♥️
