Apart from the Ob-Nixilis stuff, this has been the first good story Magic’s put out since this whole Magic Origins and “Gatewatch” shit. I’m actually flabbergasted. They even un-retconned Purifying Fire. See how easy it is to canon weld without completely invalidating the past? It shouldn’t have taken them 2 years to do it, but take the victories where you can get them.
Just to get this out of the way, we know they intended to retcon all the shit from the novels. They said it at PAX 2015 that the information in the novels may not be true anymore. That’s a retcon, and the bad kind that invalidates rather than grows. Unneeded since, as this story proved, it’s easy to keep things from the past accurate, while molding a new narrative out of them.
Anyway, if you haven’t read it, go read it.

So after listening to (and loving) Puscifer’s “D is for Dubby the Lustmord dub mixes” I decided to get one of the dark ambient artists albums. I got Purifying Fire because it was only $5.something on amazon and damn this is really good. I love ambient music when I am studying and meditating and this is one of the best albums in the genre I have heard. I wanna smoke saliva to this in the woods.
Purifying Fire
Should I invest in reading it? I’ve heard it isn’t canon?
On This Day
Today is July 14, 2015. Six years ago today the artwork for Chandra Ablaze was shown on the WotC website for the first time... on a bottle of soda.
my favorite colors before reading Purifying Fire
Green, Red/White, Black, ....... Blue
My favorite colors after reading Purifying Fire
Green, Red, Black ....... Blue, .....................................................white
Overall great book, but the main antagonists were white aligned and something about them just put me off of the color.
It did however boost my liking of red, you just can't see it because I'm married to Llanowar Elves.
