Even as Serena's biggest fan, I have to admit she's probably the weakest of the main girls in terms of being good at a Pokémon battle. But everyone has different strengths, so I don't expect one character to be good at everything.
Yeah, um, well, since you said it... >.> ;; But battling has never been Serena’s primary focus so why would she work to polish skills she has no interest in/doesn’t really need?
Slytherin was already answered so I’ll do Voldie-pants.
Voldemort: Describe an enemy (or someone you dont like generally) without saying their name
Someone who takes my words and personal admission/feelings out of context so they can harrass me over them. When I tell them that there was no intended target reader, that I was momentarily venting, and that their response is unnecessarily rude, they ignore me by saying my lengthy writing/speech rhythms are problematic before continuing to argue pointlessly, after I’ve already said that they have no place in the conversation, no personal investment other than to cause problems over something that has nothing to do with them. In the end, I leave and ignore them indefinitely because, as previously stated, my anxiety cannot handle it.
Also, anyone who sends anon hate. I can’t believe I forgot to add this at first.
I posted it on my blog. I dunno if you've seen it yet. It's the first post tagged "Toxic Purim", and I mentioned you but I figure I should go ahead and tell you directly.
Yeah, I... just finished reading it. Holy shit. Holy hell. Holy bajeezus. I don’t even have the words. Fuckity fuck fuck, what do I say to this??? That I never knew, never saw it coming, never expected that anything like this could happen, that he didn’t seem like that kind of person (sort of the embodiment of “not all guys” meme, I guess)?
I want to cry for you. I want to hold you. I want to give you one of my cats to cuddle with (not the homicidal one, though, I promise) and listen to crappy love songs together and eat comfort food with you until things are less... this.
I don’t understand what makes people do this. I don’t... I mean, I have my own vices, I won’t lie, but this is a whole new thing. I can’t fathom who’d be this... whatever it was that made them think it was a good idea.
I’m so very sorry you were put through anything like this. Not everyone is like Gold, I’m sure you know, not everyone would think this is reasonable or realistic behavior and that you deserve this kind of treatment.
You are one of the few good ones that I’ve had the privilege of meeting (if you know... what I unfortunately mean, though it’s also in part because I don’t know many from your corner of the fandom) and I would never wish ill will on you.
If you want to talk about anything in the future, I’m here. If you want me to never talk to you again, I also understand. This is just...
I swear to god, if I wasn’t so dehydrated and exhausted, I’d probably cry a mess over what I just read.
Hi, I was the person who asked about goodnamesareoverrated. I was merely curious because his critiques were interesting, and I liked reading them but wondered why he poofed one day. I didn't knew he was a bad person. I feel like I caused a wildfire (in exaggeration). ;__; But I'm also grateful to purimpopoie at the same time if that makes sense? (I know this isn't an ask; I just wanted to explain myself since in a way I feel bad for my curiosity. And I still feel bad for being more curious now)
I don’t think you should feel bad. You asked an innocent question and, whether or not Purimpopoie wanted to see his name (not sure how she did anyway unless she has him on a search follow or something), she was courteous enough to answer.
I don’t want to get too much into it in the open because I also don’t want to make things words but I will say the following in closure:
Do not feel guilty for asking an innocent question. I didn’t know that he was a “bad guy” either.
Also do not feel bad for being more curious now because so am I.
@purimpopoie, I hate to ask, but please if you don’t mind, tell us what you meant by that! Though if it makes you uncomfortable, then please don’t! Lol. I just... that was such a jarring response to this anon’s first ask you gave me... >.> ;;
Hey @purimpopoie! I was your secret santa! It’s amour of course, your fav~
The rays of the sun beat down on the land of the Hoenn region while Serena wiped the sweat from her forehead. It was almost Christmas and so hot. More than anything she wanted to see snow fall again; she never realized how much she missed it. Sighing, she returned Braixen and gave a coordinator she was against a friendly handshake. She lost again. But at least this time she held her own in the battle. Before she would get knocked out almost immediately trying to balance the point and battle system. This time she got closer than ever, time ran out and the other girl, Marina only had one point above her. After the contest finished she sat in the contest hall with her immersed in conversation.
“Your appeals are amazing!” The girl squealed, “I’ve never seen anything like them, it makes me imagine you right up there with your Sylveon. You blew everyone away.”
“Thank you.” She smiled, “I’m actually a Pokemon Performer from the Kalos region. Contests are much different than I expected but I’m really enjoying learning from them, and my Pokemon are too.”
“Oh are those the ones that perform with their Pokemon on stage? That explains so much!” Marina laughed, “I actually really want to go see a showcase in person someday maybe even perform in one. It’s on my list of things to try along with a Unovan Pokemon Musical.”
“Pokemon musical?”
“Mmm. It’s only in Unova but its similar where a trainer and their Pokemon perform for an audience with a bunch of accessories. I bet you’d be good at it too.”
That sounded like a nice way to gain even more experience for her goal. Maybe she’d check out Unova after she was finished in Hoenn. Ash had just come from there before arriving in Kalos and she’d love to check out more of the places he traveled. She wondered how he was doing.
“Serena!”
A blush rose to her face, especially after her goodbye kiss. It was like she could hear him.
“Aww how cute is that your boyfriend?”
“H-Huh?!” Her eyes widened in realization when she saw the very boy she was thinking about standing at the contest hall door…with a bouquet of roses.
“Ash?”
He ran a finger under his nose and grinned, “You did great out there!”
“Well, I’ll leave you two alone. It was nice to meet you Serena.” Marina winked and walked past Ash, “I hope we get to meet again! Maybe next time we can face off in a performance.”
Serena wanted to wish her new friend well but she couldn’t open her mouth as a million thoughts ran through her head. Why was Ash Ketchum in Hoenn? Why was he here at a Contest Hall? And why was he holding roses?
Ash walked over to her and held out the bouquet. “This is for you!”
“T-Thank you, they’re beautiful…” Indeed they were, a perfectly arranged and wrapped red rose bouquet tied with a pink ribbon. Did he know what that meant? “But…why?”
“See, I thought you might be lonely being on your own. Being this far away from home on your own for the first time and all. So I came to visit you!” Rubbing the back of his head nervously he continued, “And when I used to travel through here my friend was given roses all the time after her contests. I thought it was silly back, then choosing roses over ice cream…” He muttered to himself under his breath.
“I’m really happy you’re here it means a lot to me.” She smiled and held the roses tight to her chest. “I have been a little lonely…it’s so hot here it doesn't feel like Christmas. Wait but what about your family?”
“Mom completely understands and was the one who suggested I come visit you. If we had more time I’d invite you to come to Kanto for the holidays.”
“Pika!” Pikachu ran out from between Ash’s legs and leapt onto Serena’s shoulder.
“Good to see you again too Pikachu.” She patted him on the head.
“Let’s get going! Whatever you want to do I’ll follow ya. This is your holiday and I’m here to keep you company.”

“Marina is one of the top coordinators in the nation?!” She gasped looking at the giant billboard overhead in Mauville where the girl she battled who ended up winning it all. In it she was advertising a big clothing line. “I had no idea.”
“And you got so close to beating her too!” Ash grinned, “That’s a huge accomplishment!”
He was right, while at first she was worried about him seeing her lose like that now she felt proud she was able to come that close to who was clearly a legendary coordinator.
“That reminds me, Marina mentioned Pokemon Musicals, have you ever seen those Ash?”
“I have. I also became an unwilling participant of one once. You thinking of giving those a try next?”
Giggling she spun around, “Yes, they sound like they would be good for my Pokemon.”
“I think so too. Right Pikachu?”
“Pikapi!”
A loud growl echoed through the city. Chuckling Ash patted his stomach, “I’m hungry wanna get something to eat?”
“I’d love to. There’s this food court I wanted to try while I was here, it’s all over the brochures.”
“Let’s head over there next, I bet they have some great things to eat.” Grinning he grabbed her hand and pulled her toward their next destination because when Ash had food on his mind he was unstoppable.
Because of this it didn’t take long to get to the famed food court looking busier than ever with many people already fighting, literally it seemed, over the best spots the area offered. What Serena’s eye however was how decorated the place was. It was the most Christmas looking thing she’d seen thus far with fake snow all over the ground, holly and ivy on the windows, hand painted decorations and more.
“Welcome!” The lady behind the counter had on a santa outfit and waved at the two of them. “We’re having a special deal for couples for the season.” She held out her hand holding a coupon, “Give this to the cashier when you pay!”
“We…we’re…” Serena tried to explain the situation but the spreading redness over her cheeks made the task more difficult than she thought.
Ash meanwhile only grinned and took the coupon, “Thank you!” He grabbed her hand again, “Come on Serena! Pick a place and that’s where we can eat.”
“I…sure!” She couldn’t believe he didn’t say they weren’t. We’re they? Gosh things were so awkward around him now. And he brought her roses before, did he? Her thought patterns couldn’t even form coherent sentences right now as she was pulled along.
“Hey. Serena?”
She couldn’t even blink as Ash leaned forward and kissed her. Ash. Kissed. Her. And she couldn’t will herself to move instead stood frozen eyes wide. And then it was over. And Serena stopped working.
“See, after you left I couldn’t stop thinking about you for some reason. If it wasn’t for my friends I never would have figured out why.”
Serena finally breathed again as the environment came back into focus. Mistletoe. They were standing under mistletoe. Pikachu made a heart with his ears chuing in happiness.
“Plus I had to pay you back somehow right? You uh…left so suddenly after that kiss, I didn’t know how to react.” He laughed, “I had no idea you liked me like that.”
That was a little ironic as she’s pretty sure everyone they ever ran into picked up on it. Shauna, Miette, even Bonnie and Clemont knew.
“And I think I like you too Serena.” His own face reddened, “So I wanted to find you again and…”
The loud rumbling from before echoed even louder.
Serena giggled, “Why don’t we continue this conversation over some food?” She grabbed his hand and tugged it lightly. “You know what happens when you don’t eat.”
“Sure, thanks Serena. We’ll be spending Christmas together so we have a lot of time to talk right?”
She nodded with her eyes sparkling. Ash liked her. He actually liked her! She was on cloud nine nothing else mattered anymore. Sure it was hot here, there was no snow, this was the first holiday without her mother but she had Ash here. And he brought her roses, kissed her under the mistletoe, and liked her back. This non traditional holiday was shaping up to be the best one she ever had.
