Welcome to another Purity Artist Spotlight! Today, we’re elated to introduce our contributing illustrator 8080, also known as Teal, an animator from Kansas City. Her delicate but free linework is both deliberate and slightly whimsical. 8080 works in traditional and digital media, as can be seen on her personal art blog.
8080 is a devoted creator. In 8080’s words,
In highschool I actively spent hours online looking for anything containing gay/lesbian characters. I eventually realized that the kind of validation I experienced through finding those narratives could be something I pass on through my art. My goal now is to continue building positive stories and role models for lgbt youth to identify with.
If you’re interested in seeing more, you’re in luck! 8080 has a Tumblr that you can follow here, and a Twitter feed here! Both of them are a great way to watch for 8080′s new sketches and information about their animation projects.
We’re stoked to have 8080′s work in the anthology! We’re encouraged by 8080′s beautiful style and encouraging insights. Thank you for your entry, 8080!
If you missed the Kickstarter, don’t fret! You can still pre-order Purity: The “Post-Yaoi” Anthology here.
