It's my Soothing Stitches Sunday so the perfect day to share the last of my 8 new and exclusive Mohair Tweed patterns with you. I hope you have enjoyed my introduction journey around my new patterns & I can't wait to see what pattern you chose to start your next calming knitting journey! Please do share with me - tag me in your pics or #purlandjane them! So without further ado here's the Baile Blanket #linkinbio . Baile (BAL-yeh) is the Irish word for place or home. I thought Baile was the perfect Irish word for this blanket because snuggling up with this blanket makes you feel at home. I love this blanket! It is inspired by my Calton Gill Blanket from my Knitted With Love book. The Calton Gill Blanket is on display in my design studio and I see it every day, and every day I wondered what it would look like if I played around with the striping or made solid squares. And this is what I came up with! It’s how you place the squares that creates the design shapes. This version takes 10 balls in total - 5 each of two shades. It makes it approx. 84cm x 84cm however you can keep going with this - the more squares you knit the bigger it will be and the larger the pattern. I’ve already cast on with shades to complement my bedroom as I’m going to make mine large enough for a queensize bed. It’ll be my calming squares to knit in between my (many many)other projects. #loveknitting (at Purl &Jane)
