i’ve noticed a lot of lesbian flags (or any, really, but especially those) use desaturated indigo-ish and/or lilac purples to symbolize he/him pronouns and honestly that’s something i really like. unfortunately that type is usually made by exclus but idrc as long as i can reclaim them yk??
A little rant about the purple pride flags... under the cut:
This has probably been said before, but I’ve noticed that the bi flag and the ace flag both have purple in them:
Is that a coincidence? Probably, but coincidentally, we’re the orientations that are often told that we aren’t straight enough to be straight or gay enough to be gay. Just like purple is not red enough to be red and not blue enough to be blue. We’re our own orientations, just like purple is its own color.
And look at the non-binary flag:
Also a purple stripe! We non-binaries are not men, nor are we women. We are not cis, but we aren’t “trans enough” to some people. We are our own gender, our own color. Not red, not blue, purple. Not men, not women, non-binary.
And lastly, we got the queer flag and the genderqueer flag:
Also purple stripes. For those who are not sure about their orientation or gender, or for those who do know, but don’t want to be limited to one label, one color. Those who know that they’re not straight/cis, and that’s all. And that’s okay.
We’re not incomplete. We’re not an unfulfilled canvas.
