hotguy/cuteguy secret identity love square premise but they're both openly poly
so the two superheros end up dating and are open with each other about also having another boyfriend as their civilian identity, and grian and scar end up dating and are open (if a bit cagey/mysterious) about having another boyfriend. oh but their schedule's reeeaaaally weird though so i don't know if you'll ever get to meet them :( sad, you'd really get along with them i think (grian says to scar. scar thinks grian would be annoyed by cuteguy)
cue lots of comedic shenanigans. also both of them find some opportunity as their hero self to chat up their civilian boyfriend on the sidewalk or something. they can't help it they're just so cute when they're a little flustered <3
eventually they figure out the secret identity thing. they're both SO mad - not because of the secrets! that's totally chill! - but because APPARENTLY they haven't ACTUALLY been in a polycule this whole time! they've just been a standard two-person couple :( they both thought they had two to three boyfriends (depending on how you count shooting your shot with your civilian boyfriend under your hero identity. they have a whole argument about whether that counted as a separate iteration or not).
out of spite at the universe they end up also dating each other's best friends and we end up with a bizarre semi-queerplatonic-in-some-vectors mumcubscarian quadrangle. (it's not a square because that's too normal for whatever they have going on.) bonus points if secret identities get involved there too.
