Linaria purpurea (Purple Toadflax)

Purple Toadflax is a wildflower native to Southern Italy and Sicily and, not surprisingly, it prefers full sun and poor soil. This cute little “invasive plant” is now found in many parts of the world, Including Southern British Columbia. 

I found this one growing in a flowerpot in my back garden. I didn’t plant it: it just showed up. I think of it as an attractive, if uninvited, guest.

Some people call it a ‘weed’ but to Flowerishness it’s just a nice, little purple flower.
