I'm honestly impressed

People say cats don't love their humans but mine will yell until I go to bed at a reasonable time and proceed to fuss all over me until she then settles.

Recently she likes to sit on top of my hand, specifically in a way so i can feel her heart fluttering through her purring, delicate rib cage.

She feels most content with a large predators hand cradling her heart, knowing full well how strong I am. But she pins my palm down under her chest and licks at my arm. Purring all the time.

This is our bedtime routine. This is her ritual fo making sure i am in bed and safe and 'clean' and (despite what people believe) loved

Skadi has specific meows. I haven't learnt all of them but here are few i think i understand:

Highest pitch mew: i have dropped a pompom please throw

Clean, slightly wavery mew: i don't like this - usually in reference to me doing/not doing something

RE-ow!: bedtime, bedtime now, bedtime now mother

Long stretched crispy* meow: Moooootherrrrrr do the thing/fix it/i am demanding something (happens when previous polite demands not met quick enough)

Maowrr!: yes! This is my opinion! - often a reply sound and usually positive

*Most of her meows are crispy but this one is especially

Skadi: *yelling about wanting more garden time*

Me: not today baby

Skadi: *crispy maow*

Me: no

Skadi: *more insistent crispy maow*

Me: you can't throw a temper tantrum

Skadi: *indignant crispy maow*

Me: you can't *pets her*

Skadi: *purrs and accepts petting but is probably still annoyed at lack of being given exactly what she wants*
