Try to think of what purrl's specialty would be in yogscast minecraftia. (Magic? Plants? Animals? Potions?) maybe giving Purrl an accessory regarding their interests could help. Then also think about what their backstory is. Have they always been partially cat/winged creature? How does Purrl have the ability to morph into the cat persona? Is there an item which could allow them to do it? What could the item be and where did they get it? I like your design as it is, but maybe this'll help! :)

I have thought a lot about this, I just couldn't figure out a way to mix all the conflicting interests together into a solid theme that made sense.
I've actually written lots of concepts and ideas out on my tumblr page about minecraft purrl specifically, and even my deviantart a couple times, and I think recently a concept has arisen that just helps to link everything together.
With the addition/discovery of the wither cats, the pieces are falling into place better than they ever have.

So, Purrl. The cat, the simplicity of her design is that she's small, has wings, and wears a necklace with a pearl, shaped like a star on it.
A while ago, withers were added to minecraft. what do they drop? the only star-shaped thing in the entire game, which just so happens to be the same color as the one pictured on purrl's necklace.
well, lets try and see if this coincidence has some solidity to it, what do I like?
I like outer-space, I'm also pretty in love with the creepy/dark side of life. Stars? yes. Withers? double yes.
I consider myself unhealthy, sickly, and I am. I'm underweight and going through a bunch of horrible health problems that I'd rather not go into, but in short, I feel like death, and in a sense I'm withering away.
So, I like cats; too. and I didn't want to go full-on anthro cat person because I think that's a little weird and kinda awkward to try and express in minecraft (the only person who pulls that off well is panda, but a panda is a simple design anyways)
I didn't want to neko it up because that's too much akin to anime, which I'm not a particularly huge fan of.
I like gore, I like nature, I want to live off the land and breathe through the world in harmony, while still ruling over my domain.
I took a lot of inspiration for purrl's design from nepeta from homestuck, despite the fact that i consider our personalities to be opposite.
So what features did I choose to exaggerate? her teeth, I gave her fangs like a cat, which could double as another creepier stereotype in the world of fantasy, vampires. Vampire-cat? well now that's just borderline werewolf. That could explain how she could shift forms, right?
but how could that combine itself with the priorly established theme of wither stars? ender pearls? at the time it was a confusing mesh of ideas that i hadn't quite figured out how to fix, reaching back into the depths of yoglabs finding an untold story of the feral vampire cats that had gone on a murdering rampage in the aztec ruins.
