After posting a foliage pic yesterday, I couldn't resist a fruiting Purshia stansburiana today. This drought tolerant shrub is often used for habitat restoration as they make great erosion control and forage for deer, elk, pronghorn, and livestock. Rodents eat those beautiful achenes (each with a persistent, feathery style). The leaves and stems make a tan to yellow-brown dye.
