2003 Mercedes S-Class
First car with push button start.
So my Dad has been complaining about the new car. His complaints?
-It's like an airplane. He doesn't like all the button and screens. (Heaven forbid we have cruise control! We haven't had that for at least three cars. We also have bluetooth. It works with my phone anyway. He has a cheap, stupid phone as opposed to my expensive smart phone.)
-No CD player.(When he first got a CD player in the car, he complained he didn't have a tape player. Progress, I guess. He'll have to get an iPod! LOL)
-The Back-up Camera. He says he'll never get used to it.
-The screen. It's distracting.
-The display on the dashboard. (He'll love it when he gets used to it.)
-The radio. It's too fancy. (He was still listening to AM radio. I programmed his station, which comes in on an FM station as well. He is happy, not happy.)
-The Key. He doesn't like the push button start and that the key doesn't go into the ignition. I reminded him that he didn't like the remote entry keys initially either.
I also reminded him that it is good to have windows that work and A/C and heat that works and a bumper that isn't falling off. It is also nice not to worry that the car will randomly set on fire while we are driving down the road like our Dodge did the last time we drove it more then a few miles. It was also clean for a day or so.
Overall, he is generally grumpy about having to buy a car at all. I understand that. But it is nice to have the pretty and working car.
As for what they did to the old car...
