I realize that in the context of this blog it's silly to say that this is a really special song to me. but this is one of the most important songs that I have ever heard. Maybe it hit me at just the right age, maybe it's the memories of playing the 7" single over and over. I think that the greatness of this song is the fuzzy guitar, the sad hopefulness of the lyrics, the well-placed "aaahhs," and the bookend nature of it beginning and ending quietly. This is a happy song when you need it to be and a sad song when you don't.
