I was trying to find images of Black women in one of these chairs, as it is such a part of all of lives. Like, even if your Black home didn't have one when you were young, somebody you knew did, or maybe everybody you knew did. (This is for the Black people who grew up in Black communities, in Black culture). At the very least, you've seen them in photos. And yet. I had a hard time finding any on this site through searches. So, I'd like to present this video that I did find and ask that if you see or recall seeing any posts with the straw chair, wooden chair, wicker chair, however you call it, please send it my way. Every year I wear black and study history on this day. I develop plans and think about ways to grow. I look for ways to create my own INDEPENDENCE DAY for me and my people.
