Pushing and Pulling (2PT #37)

Prompt: I Caught Myself by Paramore  Pairing: Misha x Reader

Drabble request by @ashleymalfoy. 

For weeks, Misha had been trying to convince you to go out with him, but you knew it was a horrible idea. Not only was he more than a few years your senior, but you were dating somebody else. It was new and not exclusive, but you knew once you agreed to go out with Misha, you would be too far gone to date anyone else. 

“Come on,” he said as you helped him with his blazer before he went on stage for a panel. “One dinner. That’s all I’m asking.”

“I hear what you’re asking, Misha,” you smirked. “I don’t feel like you hear me telling you it can’t happen. I’m seeing someone.”

You were trying to brush the shoulder of the jacket smooth; Misha grabbed your wrist gently, forcing you to pay attention to him. “I don’t care. What do you want me to do? Challenge him to a duel? I’ll do it.”

“For one dinner with me?” You wrenched your wrist away from him and raised your brow. 

“Just one. Please.”

Not for the first time, you realized that when Misha looked at you, even the busy chaos of being backstage at any appearance didn’t register with him; only your presence did. Taking a deep breath, you nodded and ceded to one dinner, knowing it could never be just the one.

One thing for me is true in every aspect : It is always easier to pull than push. Physically, it easier to pull a wagon, than to push one. A trash can is easier pulled up the drive way, than pushed. It is easier to pull some out of an addiction, to just offer them a hand to grab onto, than have to push, or force them to leave it behind them.  And, it is easier to pull away from someone, than to push forward, whether it is a rough patch or a good.  Always, is it easier to do the action of pulling than pushing. But, it is not always better.
