hey, I just wanted to thank you/point out my appreciation for this blog. I'm in a living situation at the moment in which I struggle to be involved in many historical/intellectual debates in the way I would like to be, and being able to read your posts is so helpful in encouraging and provoking me to think in various and diverse ways, so though this message may be preemptive (as I haven't had a large look yet), I just wanted to share my appreciation

I had the opportunity to teach undergrad history courses when I was in grad school. The most rewarding moments were always when students who didn’t like history or weren’t super confident realized that they could think critically; that they did understand what was going on; that they had the right to be in those conversations. So, I’m truly honored that my writing is helping you get to that place where you feel like you can and deserve to participate in those conversations. Definitely let me know if there’s anything I can help you out with, or if there’s anything you want to get a better understanding of.

And to speak frankly, we’re in a rough job market, and it’s been kind of wearing on me (as, I’m sure, it is everyone), so seeing this message really gave me a boost :) So, thank you.
