Putrid Blightkings group photo!
Putrid Blightking, “painterly” style.
I’ve been working on developing my own painting style recently, based primarily around large, visible brushstrokes/splotches for the various color gradients rather than using any kind of blending. I’ve been looking up some Japanese miniature artists as well as Impressionist artists for inspiration.
I started this model on the right leg, and probably redid it five or six times until I felt comfortable enough with the colors and methodology to move onto the rest of the model. I learned a lot in my efforts and look forward to refining the techniques with future models.
I’m curious of what people think; do you prefer my more ‘eavy Metal style or this more sketchy style?
Putrid Blightking by Adam Gleba
One of my favourite models from Maggotkin of Nurgle, the Putrid Blightking :)
I call him...
Mister TinkerBell.
With all my plaguebearers complete, the spearhead is about two thirds done, I love how it's coming out!
Finally finished the 4th putrid blightking!
Took me a while to refine this guy, I kept having to fix mistakes
Anyway he turned out really good, his banner and trim was a pain to paint but very rewarding.
Edit: I forgot to add earlier: this is the "standard bearer" variant
