He hadn't bothered to check the entire list of missing materials, he just thought that the company should suck it up, admit they had employees that weren't too bright, and replace the materials. "They didn't steal some special saw worth hundreds, just replace it. They make estimates big enough to cover extra costs and what's the worst someone's going to do, lose out on their deposit by trying to hang a picture?" As far as Dante knew, no one had been caught trying to take a hammer to someone and who knows, maybe someone would slip it back into the hallway that night after the company finished getting their panties in a twist. "At least they're not threatening to take the loss out of paychecks."
