As a student of the northern Caribbean University where securities are placed on campus for the safety of students and staff, I believe they may have gentler approach when dealing with students. Security guards are similar to police officers as they also have the responsibility to protect. Therefore their approach should be similar of that of a police officer.

1. Approach students in a calm manner and a normal tone of voice.

2. Always see to find out what the problem before accusing or creating a scene.

3. Be respectful and acknowledge the rights of student.

4. Display professionalism at all times

Marshall Tuck has my vote for State Superintendent of Public Instruction in California. He is committed to making a difference for all students in public education, and understands the intricacies involved in the need to change policies and regulations that are often in place to protect adults, rather than to serve children. While Tony Thurmond has a great personal story of resilience, he is deep in the pockets of the unions, and a career politician, who will be accountable to those that are spending money to get him into his next political position.
