rae where to begin!! your portrayal of nat is so special, just as special as you are and it’s amazing getting to experience your love for nat. your understanding of her reaches far beyond the depths of the nuances of what we see in the show. you embody her (and lottie!) with so much care and understanding and it makes me so emo just thinking about it because we both know it’s what natalie especially deserves. I also very much love coming on the dash to see you and char interact, whether that’s on nat or lottie because no matter what it’s quality content that will never not amaze me!

INDI! you're like a sister to me ( tatted sisters to boot! ) & i love that so much, but this kind of compliment coming from a fellow natalie writer is honestly just, so meaningful! seriously, thank you <3 i know i speak for both myself & char when i say that acknowledgement is super fucking appreciative as well. you're amazing, nat & i love you & your nat in return, whole heartedly, you precious gem, my gosh.

what would that solve? he's gotten tired of the quiet that comes with the wilderness at times. quietness wouldn't bring his brother or father back. wouldn't save them from this starving. wouldn't get them rescued. it's the snow, he tells himself .the way the snow muffles sounds. he remembers learning it in one of those science classes that won't matter now. they way snow absorbs sound waves or something like that. since lottie told them to truly listen, he hears more. knows more. but the quiet just feels like loneliness for now. and he'd rather not have loneliness when he could have nat around. ' no, just stay. i've had enough alone time for the rest of my life probably. stay. '

[ ♡ ] this might be easier if everything was hazy, if she could forget everything that happened in the woods the previous night -- an ax in her hand as she's surrounded by howls, hunting down one of their very own, thinking of her as nothing more than food. it's what they all agreed to, what they all seemed to assume was the only way, and tai knew she couldn't dwell on it as she focused on their survival, but there's something so bittersweet in the aftermath, in being relieved that nat is still here despite still losing someone in the process.

no one says anything as they sit quietly in the cabin, the only noise being that of the wails coming from outside, travis grieving his little brother in his own privacy as they all wait to decide when it's time to move on. she might not know what to say to @pvnkshooter now, but she has to do something to ignore the hunger that's yet again threatening to turn to something enraged.

she makes her way over to nat, blanket in hand as she sits down quietly and offers it over to her. ❝  here. take this, ❞ she says softly, not yet looking her in the eye. she closes her own as she listens to the sobs from travis on the other side of the door, and if she's being affected by this, she knows nat must need a distraction even more. she opens her eyes to look at nat, searching for any indication that she's okay ( she can't expect her to be, not after everything, not with what's still to come. ) ❝  you should get warm. there's some extra sweaters too, if you need them. ❞ they're all freezing, but she's only focused on her right now.

The weight of the words sit heavy between them, Shauna averting her gaze. She doesn't want Natalie to be right, doesn't want to admit that maybe she wouldn't quite be justified in standing her ground. It's something that she wishes could just be some sort of petty argument. But nothing was that simple anymore, nothing out here didn't hold some kind of weight. And leaving it to fester would only create a bigger fallout. "Fine, okay? You're right. What else do you want me to say? If I could change it I would."

While it was true that there were some very strange and unexplainable things happening, Lee wasn't sure just how much he bought into the Lottie nonsense with everyone claiming that she was keeping them safe, as if she had a connection to some sort of larger power at play here. Maybe it was desperation, an attempt at holding onto whatever sliver of hope they could get their hands on by turning to faith, but he'd be lying if he said he couldn't see it turning ugly.

❝ Everyone is losin' their minds out here and I don't wanna feed into this weird cult shit either, but you know and I know that they're gonna believe what they wanna believe if it makes 'em feel safer. ❞ Lee had both talked to the others about it and overheard some of the conversations, and they seemed pretty set in turning to Lottie as some sort of guardian.

While walking beside Natalie, Lee having volunteered to go hunting with her while Travis was off doing whatever it was he'd busied himself with, he kept his eyes on the environment to watch for movement within the trees. The last thing he wanted was to miss out on something because he was too distracted. ❝ Doesn't matter what we say anyway. Nobody listens to anything 'cept what Lottie says. ❞

By now it was clear to everyone, and by everyone he knew it was everyone, that Eli had a not so small crush on Nat. He'd always been shit at hiding how he felt about things, even if he didn't verbalize it most the time. His face was always a dead give away. Just one more thing that separated him from his twin. You only could tell what Anna was thinking when she wanted you to know, Eli was always an open book. He'd been pacing for some time, pretty much the whole time that Nat had been getting ready for another hunt.

He had to say something. He just had to. Because, God forbid, if anything did happen he wouldn't be able to live with himself. Hell if anything happened and he did say something he wouldn't be able to live with himself, but it would be worse if he'd just said nothing. On his long legs it only took him a few strides until he was through the door, shutting it behind him. He didn't need her fucking boyfriend hearing this shit. Two more elongated strides and he was face to face with the girl he'd watched from afar for so long, though he stood before her eyes darting between her face and the floor while he nervously chewed at his thumb while he still worked up the courage to say something.

He could feel the anxiety bubbling up, making him wanna puke though there was nothing in him to throw up. It was clear his hand was shaking now too, making him look even more pathetic then he already looked. "Nat I-", the words froze, stuck in the middle of his throat like he was choking on them. There was a bit of silence before he could finally swallow again, pulling a deep breath in now the words had been wrangled. "I know, you know, I fucking like you ok? And I like you a lot. I just, I know you don't need protection, and you got fuckin' Travis there too, but I just need you to be careful out there because, I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here."
