Take you under my wing || pvtitslightish-red
In the silence of the early morning, a figure trudged across the canyon, paying no heed as he crossed from the Blue side to the Red, despite the cobalt hue of his yellow-accented armor. Not that it really mattered out here; the only fighting that happened was petty bickering over nothing important. And, given the early hour, most everyone was already sleeping, anyhow, so there would be no shouts referring to him as a 'dirty blue' telling him to leave their base immediately. Plus, he had an appointment with one of the members of the Red team, anyway.
Once or twice a week, Washington would head over the the Red side of the canyon in the morning in order to help train Donut on how to properly use his gun. Target practice, basic maintenance, that sort of thing. He'd been surprised, honestly, when out of the entire group, only one was interested in actually learning how to handle their weapon, and out of all of them, it was Donut. He'd been tempted to refuse at first, but in the end decided that...hey, it was something to do out here, and it would help him keep himself in practice as well. Oh, and then there was the fact that it was about the least he could do after that whole shooting and almost killing incident. He owed the guy, and this was partially a way to apologize for the whole thing, even if Donut never seemed overly bothered about it anymore. It never stopped the ex-freelancer from feeling guilty and mildly awkward around the pink private.
As he approached their set meeting spot, Washington came to a halt and cast a glance around. He was the first to arrive, but that was fairly typical. He was used to waking up at the crack of dawn, and he had a tendency to leave a little earlier than their set meeting time. Eyes flitting to the clock on his helmet's HUD, he took note that he was nearly ten minutes early today. Stifling a quick yawn, the former freelancer settled in to wait for his pupil, gaze drifting to the Red base, watching for a sign of him. When none were seen, he shrugged it off and peered around the canyon idly, waiting with as much patience as he could muster.
