((Sooo I'm thinking of watching Madoka Magica, but I'm not sure what I'd be seeing like.. is there something that makes it lots different from other anime options? Like. If I'm a fan of a certain thing will I really enjoy this, then?))
Oh, it’s definitely a cut above the rest. It’s essentially a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, taking it apart and examining the pieces while also being really really fucked up. I’m pretty sure I cried more at that show than I’ve cried at anything else ever. It’s only 12 episodes (and if you watch it, WATCH AT LEAST THE FIRST THREE EPISODES. Just trust me.) and there’s no lame filler or anything like it. It’s a short, powerful, intense story with absolutely incredible visuals and is easily my favorite anime of all time (not to mention it really got me back into anime after not being into it for a long time). If you like good storytelling, regardless of the medium, you’ll love PMMM.
And again, WATCH THE FIRST THREE EPISODES.
