not enough people talk about maladeptive addiction - namely, when the use of a substance was useful in response to a fucked situation and when the situation is gone but the use remains and becomes the only real remaining thing left of that past.

like, drug use is always seen as bad as opposed to appropriate unless there is a doctor advising and saying yes (even then, with the wave of anti opioid propaganda this comes under fire). so how are we supposed to look at this appropriately?

I'm out of some of a fucked up situation and ive found my drug use to have gone down, however I still have an anxiey disorder about it and find myself searching for reprive, solution and the like in relation to that obstacle.
