she definitely was not chirping at one of the birds flitting about in the cage. she definitely did not jump when the bell rang when the door opened.

"The librarian said a plow won't be here for another two hours," Heather announced when she returned to the corner of the library where the one person in the building she knew was. She sat at the table and sighed. "The roads are pretty icy though and it might take a bit longer so we'll be stuck a while." Ohio winters were seriously bogus
"Don't leave, please.. I'm sorry for what I did to you.. I promise I'll never do it again." [[ I COULDNT DECIDE WHICH ONE I LIKED BETTER BOOP TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE ]]

Veronica looked at the festering burn on her hand, promises and pledges and superficial words floating aimlessly amid the clouds of pain. People always talk about their moment of clarity, a rush of seeing everything how it really is for the first time. Veronica wasn’t feeling that. She was muddy and confused. She knew what he said was wrong somehow but she couldn’t exactly pin point where. It was confusing and numbing and she didn’t really know how to feel. She glanced back at her self-inflicted burn only amplified by his cigarette bud and pulled a single word out of the teaming mass of her mind. Never.
”You—you can’t just be sorry. Sorry isn’t good enough. I think you—I think you broke me. Or at least some part of me. An important part. God, you promised last time you hurt me. You said 'No, babe, I swear I'll never do it again.’ and that was a lie right? Because we’re here right now, having this conversation. And I don’t…”
She trailed off, looking into his sad, pleading eyes and cringing slightly. Was she being fair? Did J.D. deserve another person in their shitty world against him? Veronica couldn’t just be one more person on his bullet list of disappointments.
She let herself fall into him, sinking deeper and deeper into the lulling darkness of his touch.
"I believe you.”
She sighed quietly into his chest, something pricking behind her eyes, but Veronica was all too lost to feel the hot tears on her cheek.
