So I'm on a little adventure trying to finish my fav two blonde fools on tardis guide ( Charley and 13) ( totally not because they r my favs and I want the completion badges ppfff who would do that), but ohh my god I think I've fallen in love with every single friend Charley has in her stories. She just attracts the best kind of people ( they are miserable) but also, spoilers, her lore being on a cliffhanger might make me tweak. I am attached to Robert he's so different from the doctor and I think it's something Charley needs for her own sanity, spending years with two separate doctors. I'd lose my mind too. How is he always just so happy. I also need to know where the Audacity lore is going there's just so much happening its making me nervous, guys what is going to happen. I miss 8, I miss C'rizz, I miss 6, I miss Audacity ( ik ik there's more coming out), I miss Robert sm this is not even funny. Anyways, Ik most people continue 8s run after Charleys main era, so i'd say try her stuff out too if possible. I see almost no one discussing it here its lonely.

Having headcanon thoughts about magic and humans. I've been theorizing that elemental magic is closely tied to Tyria's innate magic balance (Weaver's elite skill referencing the dragonvoid, etc) and therefore tends to manifest unpredictably in humans since they aren't originally from Tyria, in contrast with necromancy and mesmer magic since humans in those professions are usually connected (either directly or indirectly) to Grenth and Lyssa respectively. (Outside of the scholar professions, this also goes for Guardians and Dwayna, rangers/druids and Melandru, etc. Human elementalists probably still favor certain Gods---a water-focused human ele might favor Lyssa or even Grenth if they use cryomancy, and a human ele who uses all the elements might have multiple patrons or reject tradition and revere none at all---but their control of four elements is harder to tie down to one of the Gods.)

Because of that, human aptitudes for necromancy and mesmer magic are easier to predict in family lines than aptitudes for elementalism, since family groups are more likely to favor specific members of the Six. This dynamic has likely changed over time, given that the Gods are actively withdrawing and humans are probably more adjusted to Tyria's magical 'ecosystem' than they used to be, but I'd bet there are fancy magic tutors in Divinity's Reach who still swear by it when selecting their students.
