I have a confession to make.. concerning the Goslings... I loathe Drive(2011). It was a shitty movie with a main character that lacked anything to make him compelling putside of being played by Ryan Gosling. I get that the director was trying to go for something more noir and serious but THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO DO THAT THAN HAVE A 5+ SECOND PAUSE BETWEEN EVERY SPOKEN LINE!!!
I DONT CARE THAT ITS GOTTEN SO MANY GOOD REVIEWS IF DRIVE HAS NO HATERS IM DEAD ITS A SHITTY MOVIE WITH SHITRY CARICATURE CHARACTERS AND A BASIC ASS PLOT AND THE WORST DIRECTION IVE SEEN IT MAKES EVERYTHING SO STILTED NICHOLAS WINDING REFN WHEN I FUCKING CATCH YOU-

I'm a part of the editing team!! I'm not the fiction editor, which was what I was going for, but tbh I just want to edit and be part of it at all.
I'm the biography editor! So I'll be dealing with the biography blurbs that contributors send in. Probably editing them slightly if they have punctuation errors, and putting them where they need to go.

Ok, so some context:
I went to a protest on Saturday as a reporter for my school paper, I did a whole bunch of interviews (18) and then went through all of them to find quotes and then narrowed those quotes down further then wrote an article including them. I really wanted to make sure that the story of that protest got presented in the most authentic and factual way, so I figured the best way was to focus on what the attendees and organizers were saying. I made sure to include at least one quote from everyone I talked to and divided them up based on whatever category they were speaking about (issues, inspiration to come, community aspect, etc) and it got published today.
So, about 30-45 minutes ish ago I got an email from one of the people I interviewed/an organizer and he thanked me and said how everyone he showed it to really appreciated it and then he said they'd love to invite me to more events that they host in the future to write up or whatever else happens, and I honestly just started crying immediately.
I thought the article was good, and I really liked it, but hearing that from the people the article is about really just hits different, so now I'm sort of off and on crying in my room rn.
