a classic breaking up only to realise you love them story, but with a soulmate au twist!
when soulmates meet each other after they turn 21, a red string materialises and ties their wrists together, effectively making the pair stuck together (with a few exceptions here and there). when the pair argues, the string gets shorter and pulls them physically closer, but when they are on really good terms, the string lengthens and pales. when the string turns white, it disappears and symbolises that the pair is ready to accept one another as soulmates C:
the main characters dated in high school, but had a major, messy falling out and never met each other after that. the first time they meet was at a business meeting five years later, and the red string materialises between them.
