Red eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly as Shuu stared down at the child, judgment etched across her features. She thought she could stand against her. She thought she could stop the inevitable, that she could play the role of hero and save the world from the oh-so-cruel witch that wanted to end it.
In response to that she smiled.
“I’m going to grant you a wish. It’s one you’ve had for quite awhile now, I’m sure.” And slender fingers gently pressed against the hollow of the girl’s throat as Shuu smiled. “You want to know who you really are, don’t you? Who your parents are, where you came from?”
