#repost • @farrellsarchitects ONE EXCELLENCE - The One Excellence development has won in the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2020-2021 in the office architecture category. The awards are judged by an independent panel of over 80 industry experts. ⠀ The One Excellence project comprises of four office towers, two residential towers and two district cooling facilities in addition to a retail podium with retail basement and metro connections. ⠀ The project forms a threshold to the new vibrant mixed-use masterplan which includes different types of plaza and pocket spaces along the main circulation spine; as well as cultural plaza, performance plaza, corporate garden, sculpture park and also different scale of landscape. The masterplan design was developed to integrate the waterfront setting with the emerging urban fabric of this new financial hub without compromising views and land value. The tower design gives the development a strong urban presence with a distinctive character that will enhance and bring value to the evolving Qianhai neighbourhood. ⠀ The architectural language was inspired by the Qianhai Bay, fluidity of water, and the notion of wind sailing (a Chinese interpretation of prosperity). The sculpture form of the gateway towers and podium geometries are made up of smooth inclines and gentle curves. The form is geometrically interesting but the layout is also designed from a pragmatic approach that the floor spaces are efficient and effective working spaces that provide ample daylight and comfort within.⠀ The phase 1 gateway office towers were the first two towers to be completed within the new Qianhai CBD district.
