Mu Qing was standing at the top of the wall again. From this height, he could see the whole of Heaven. It was almost... peaceful. But there was always one thing that interrupted that peace. Qingxuan, the Wind Master, could never do anything normally. They always had to climb on top of the walls, or play pranks or tease every single person in the palace. And this time it was no different."Mu Qing, Mu Qinggg!"
"Qingxuan, what are you doing?" Mu Qing grumbled without looking behind him. He didn't need to look to know who it was. No one else was so shameless. "What do you think I'm doing?" the rascal behind him replied, an amused tone in his voice. "I'm coming to annoy you, obviously."
Mu Qing rolled his eyes. If he wasn't so used to Qingxuan's nonsense, he would have been surprised by the audacity of that statement. Of course he came to see him just to annoy him."And what do you want this time?" he asked, still not looking at Qingxuan. He knew it drove him crazy.
It had been two weeks since their last encounter, and Mu Qing had managed to avoid Qingxuan during that time. He could have sworn that Qingxuan was actively trying to come across him. But every time, he had been one step ahead. He was on the roof looking out at the Heavenly City when he felt *a presence* behind him.
"Looks like you can't avoid me forever." Qingxuan's voice was cheerful and cheerful. Mu Qing closed his eyes and sighed inwardly. *I knew he would figure out how to find me eventually.* He turned to face Qingxuan and gave him an annoyed look. "You're like a persistent pest..."
Mu Qing's gaze lingered on Qingxuan. He knew it was foolish to find the other man attractive in any way. He was annoying, irresponsible and carefree. *And yet... there was something undeniably charming about him.* He quickly looked away and tried to remain indifferent. "Why are you here, Qingxuan?" he asked gruffly.
Qingxuan's soft smile widened as he saw Mu Qing look away. He was all too familiar with that look. He knew that Mu Qing tried to ignore him, to appear uninterested, but he saw glimpses of something else in his eyes. He decided to tease him. *Just a little bit.* "What, afraid to look at me?" he asked playfully.
Mu Qing took a step closer to Qingxuan, their bodies now almost touching. He cupped his cheek, feeling the softness of his skin against his hand. His heart was beating fast... but he refused to back down. He met Qingxuan's gaze, his expression becoming more intense. "You always know how to get under my skin," he murmured.
Mu Qing's voice was low and heated as he leaned closer to Qingxuan's ear, the whisper sending a shiver down his spine."You drive me crazy, you know that? You're annoying and irresponsible, but I can't seem to stay away from you. I don't know whether to push you away or pull you closer..."
Mu Qing's firm grip on his hip pulled him even closer, their bodies now pressed against each other. He could feel Qingxuan's heat and soft breaths, it was almost intoxicating.Qingxuan tried to control himself, but he couldn't help letting out a soft gasp. Mu Qing's closeness was overwhelming him, stirring up feelings he had been trying to suppress.
Mu Qing's grip on his hip tightened as he continued speaking, his voice low and intense. "You're so infuriatingly irresistible. You're always teasing and messing around, driving me crazy with your mischievous nature. But secretly... I love every moment we spend together, even if we're just arguing."
Mu Qing noticed the blush on Qingxuan's face, it only served to make him more attractive. He couldn't resist teasing him a little. He leaned in closer, his breath hot on Qingxuan's neck. "Look at you all flustered... I've never seen you so speechless before."
Qingxuan could barely find his voice, but he managed to respond eventually. "I... I'm not flustered..." he protested weakly, but his flushed cheeks and wide eyes gave him away.Mu Qing chuckled, his fingers tracing circles on Qingxuan's hip. "Don't bother denying it. I can see how much you're enjoying this."
I think words matter to Mu Qing more than to anyone else. He’s constantly spiraling into worst-case scenarios, and only an outside voice can ground him, reminding him that he isn’t actually hated. That’s why he needs someone who wears their heart on their sleeve—someone who speaks freely, effortlessly, and from the heart, overwhelming him with a sense of loud, carefree sincerity. Someone exactly like Shi Qingxuan.
