IBM Qiskit Fall Fest 2025: Largest Quantum Science Event
IBM Quantum Invites Global Community to Qiskit Autumn Fest 2025 Events to Honour a Century of Quantum Innovation
The fifth annual Qiskit Fall Fest, held in October and November 2025, will bring the global quantum community together to celebrate quantum technology, research, and collaboration. This popular student-run event series on college campuses worldwide is about to have its biggest effect yet.
The 2025 International Year of Quantum research and Technology will highlight quantum research and innovation's century-long legacy, making this year's topic particularly important. The materials made for these events will highlight key experiments and events from the first century of quantum physics.
Qiskit Autumn Fest?
The numerous quantum computing events of Qiskit Autumn Fest provide students, researchers, and corporate leaders several opportunity to participate in quantum-themed activities. These activities involve intriguing formats like quantum challenges, hackathons, coding contests, workshops, and social gatherings. IBM works with a select number of college students and volunteer hosts to organise and host Qiskit Autumn Fest events worldwide each year.
Since its launch, the event series has grown significantly. Last year, 100 event hosts helped the Qiskit Autumn Fest draw nearly 9,000 attendees. These hosts worked with IBM Quantum to grow their local quantum communities. Planners foresee higher involvement in 2025 due to success and renewed enthusiasm. The event has helped organisations grow by attracting new members and information. It has also inspired thankfulness among participants who want to create study groups and improve professionally.
Who Hosts Events?
IBM Quantum is seeking volunteers globally to host events for the vast Qiskit Fall Fest agenda. Most Qiskit Autumn Fest activities are organised by college students and held on campus, demonstrating that tomorrow's quantum sector leaders will be today's students, but hosting is very inclusive. Quantum computing enthusiasts might host or attend Qiskit Fall Fest.
Hosting does not require university campus access. High school students, recent graduates, and industry experts have hosted events digitally or elsewhere in the past. IBM helps candidates with good event ideas realise them.
Hosting: How to Participate
Attending at least one educational session is essential for Fall Fest event organisers. To access the event host application, potential hosts must complete these sessions. From August 14 to 19, courses will explain the time and needs needed to stage a Qiskit Autumn Fest event.
Interested hosts must click a link to register for these vital instructional events. Sign up for the email list on the same registration page to join Qiskit Fall Fest without hosting an event. They will receive the latest information. Register for the mailing list and/or informational seminars by Wednesday, August 13.
Potential event hosts must apply after informational sessions. These applications should detail quantum computing experience and training. Application decisions will be made on August 28th, immediately after the Tuesday, August 26th deadline.
Dates for Potential Event Hosts
To prepare potential hosts, remember these dates:
August 13: Qiskit Fall Fest mailing list and informational session sign-up deadline. Attend one of the August 14-19 informational meetings to apply. The application deadline is August 26. Application decisions announced August 28. September 2-25: University planning and learning take place Tuesday and Thursday mornings (ET). The Qiskit Fall Fest 2025 schedule will be released in early September. From October to November, Qiskit Autumn Fest takes place.
