So I’ve been reading everyone else’s posts from the quarter life crises phannies and I’m so fuckin emo. About a year and a month ago today, I remember timidly asking @boncasphan if making a group chat for 18-24 year olds was a good idea. I had been seeing all these group chats and I wanted to make one that I felt comfortable and relate in. University is a time of crises and figuring out yourselves, and Dan and Phil were there for me during those times and I wanted to be able to talk to a group of people that had the same experience. Gabs said yes and we made applications. It was a tough process to pick from 100 applications, but we narrowed it down. Last year on this day, the quarter life crises group chat was born.
These ladies came into my life during a time of turmoil and lots of self doubt. A time when I was struggling with social relations and my mental health was poor. The only thing that kept me happy during these times was our daily Skype sessions with the gc. We all clicked so quickly and while I was happy that I had finally found some amazing friends, I also had a fear in the back of my head that this group chat was going to disintegrate like others I had been a part of. Fortunately for me, here I am, being all emo because we are celebrating our one year anniversary. There is so much love and support in this group chat, and I honestly hope that everyone else finds a group of friends as amazing as the QLCGC are for me. We listen to each other, we make each other laugh, we stay up for each other, we love each other.
All the people in the QLCGC are so smart and beautiful, and they all have such amazing futures ahead of them. I love you, and I can’t imagine my life without you guys. Thanks for making life more bearable.
