The location for where we see art is huge in how we value it. If you see a painting in the Louvre we automatically just think “wow that is an amazing painting” without actually diving deeper into why it might be an amazing painting. Too often we just look and assume about art. If we see a piece of street art in an alley we are more likely to ignore it or even become irritated at that art. Street art, to me, is much more interesting and relevant than most works in the major museums like the Louvre. That being said I do believe that museums do have relevant and beautiful works, but we often dismiss what is not in a museum.
