Stobin ask!! Do they ever live together? What do they love about it and what drives them nuts? What are their routines, how do they divide the chores, and do they have any regular rituals to connect, like Thursday night movies or something?
I hope you are prepared for the absolute WALL of text I am about to type.
They absolutely live together! Completely ignoring canon, I see Steve going with Robin to college. They live in this tiny studio apartment with barely any room, and they're constantly bumping into each other. Their stuff is all intermingled and they definitely steal each other's clothes all the time.
I think the lack of space is kind of stressful for Steve at first, because up until now he's been in a giant house my himself, but that giant house made him feel really lonely, so I think just having such obvious signs of Robin sprinkled all throughout it brings him a lot of joy. Sometimes he'll have a bad day, and he'll see her posters, or a sweater she threw on the floor, or her favorite records, and it's just a physical reminder that he isn't alone anymore, and even if there isn't anyone in the house right now, she'll come back, because she's his best friend and they love eachother more than anything.
Robin loves having someone to talk to. Steve is perfectly content to let her ramble while they cook, or to let her talk him to sleep. And she likes it especially, because Steve is listening, more than most people usually do. Somedays he'll be a more active participant in conversation, asking questions and adding input, and other days he'll be quieter, but he's always listening instead of just being talked at. It makes Robin feel happier than anything to know her best friend likes listening to her.
I think they do get into quite a few petty fights, but that's really just how they are. They bicker and they argue but it's almost always in good fun. Although, I think they're both constantly arguing about cleaning. I think Steve is kind of a neat freak, and I think Robin can be a little cluttered, and when mixing it really results in them arguing about chores pretty often. I think eventually they work out some kind of system to prevent it, but it definitely takes awhile for them both to adapt. In the end, Steve probably cleans the kitchen (Robin can't stand doing the dishes) and robin takes care of the other parts of the house. They alternate who cooks and who cleans the bathroom.
They definitely have a bunch of little rituals. They do movie nights on Fridays, and they always try to get their schedules to line up so they're able to have at least one day of laying in bed together and doing nothing. I think they also try to cook dinner together, but this is reserved for one day a week because their shared kitchen isn't really that big and it can get annoying very fast if they're both always in there.
I also think they probably lay on top of each other alot. They're codependent to the core, and it's greatly confusing to everyone but them. If either of them bring partners home, there is almost always many questions about why theyre so attached to each other. They don't care, though, because they both want to live inside the other's ribcage and they don't really care about most people's opinions. They crawl all over each other.
Thank you for asking this, I really like talking about them. They mean a lot to me. Platonic relationships that are rediculously codependent and confusing to everyone except the people involved really scratch my brain.
