We fell asleep sometime last night that’s close to 3AM
and we walked through these suburb village streets by dark and by ourselves
and I, eternally by your caring request
was walking on the inner side of winding sidewalks we tread on
two weird and weary, wandering so late at night
were you beside my side
and I beside you too
and when we woke upon my mattress
I saw you there, wearing my clothes
and by the Gods I love you too
and we spoke of the tattoo that we plan to get
a matching sigil, dear to our matching hearts and matching souls
and you spoke once again of how you see the world when you are by my side
cause I am hope, impermanent and yet eternal
when I see starbursts in your eyes
and every living waking moment
each struggle, conflict in my eyes an opportunity for growth
and though I still don’t know what romance is
when you are by my side and you call me near every word so soft and sweet
your voice so genuine and tender
when you are vulnerable in the way that’s hard for you to bear
when you call me your girlfriend, love
when you just take my hand
when in our bed we’re switching spoons
and our love is simply outside and social standard, outside any given norm
the cynicism, apathy
the hopelessness and ignorance and all this worlds most dangerous fear
that well up when I hear the news
they dry up in an instant, your laugh and smile as deep as ocean bottoms and I can’t even help but just imagine better worlds with you and me within
because already I’ve been to these much better worlds, these better times with you
and I know how you suffer and you feel but one day I hope that you see them too
