Anymore thoughts on avian Skizz? I’ve never seen an avian Skizz before.
Yes okay so - Skizz struck me as an avian because he's not got the 'chaos gremlin' energy that a lot of the other mcyt avians have but he does have the frazzled, bird brain, high energy kind of personality that I think works for it particularly well.
Not only that but like, parrots are STRONG. If they don't want to go somewhere they can and will hold onto their perch with their feet, and they can fight you in a game of tug of war. It works for Skizz's skin's whole like buff strong man thing.
I went for the blue macaw instead of the red one because the red parrot gets used all the time, but there 3 other parrot colors [+ the parakeet!] in the game and I really, REALLY love the dark blue bird so that one is mostly my bias. but also. This is what they look like irl
Look at that bird. That bird deserves some love and attention. They're also the largest parrot species by length[1 meter long from the top of their head to the tip of their tail!] and they're even known as 'gentle giants' because they're one of the calmest parrot breeds. They're so strong that when they're kept as pets [not recommended or often done, most of their captive species are in zoos] they have to have special cages made because they can BREAK out of regular parrot cages with their beaks.
Also - based on some preliminary googling, Skizzleman is the tallest of the 4 at 6 feet tall [Though, uh, no one can seem to agree on how tall any of them are. their heights are void] and in my head his character would absolutely be the tallest SO it works out that not only is he an avian, he's the largest parrot breed!
Also just Skizz as a character never really feels tied down to anything so wings feel very fitting. Because the hyacinth macaw IS the longest parrot that also means Skizz could have some huge wings.
There's all the fun avian things too like chirping, trilling, wing preening, etc etc. If we go based on the idea that Skizz is an avian, Zedaph has beetle wings, Tango has though like glider flaps some lizards have, and Impulse would need an elytra to fly, Skizz is the only one of the four able to properly fly on his own long distances. Skizz is only 1 of 2 able to fly completely independently [ie without rockets] but Zedaph's wings aren't meant for him to rely on for long periods of time - BUT what that does allow for is that Skizz has traveled around most of the overworld!
There are three people here who can preen his wings for him! [Well. Okay. Tango is up for debate because he like. definitely has claws. But] Not only that but he's the best equipped to help Impulse learn to use an elytra because he can fly right alongside Impulse!
