John Robie is probably best known for his collaborations with Arthur Baker (A-T-2 039) Planet Rock, Play At Your Own Risk, Funky Soul Makossa. Robie also produced some other landmark hip hop and electro tracks in 1982. In the UK these records would be a major influence on producers of British house and techno six or so years later. If you collect records in the UK these should be cheap and easy to find

John Robie wrote the classic Hip Hop Be Bop (Don't Stop) with Man Parrish and Sugarscoop/Disconet/Importe12 record label owner and the man behind C.O.D. Raul A. Rodriguez
