personally (i am a trans woman) im very comfortable playing men, and i actually find that it makes me more confident in my identity as a woman, since theres a separation between me and the character that makes me more aware that their gender isnt the same as mine. im really interested to hear what others have to say abt this though, so reblog and let me know in the tags!!
i had a dream last night in which i was playing mother 3 again and noelle holiday was in it but i didnt question this, it was a well known fact that deltarune was set in the same universe. obviously. and the roaring knight, too, was a recurring villain, whose identity was kept vague and mysterious throughout the whole game with no ultimate reveal. so while in deltarune the theory of noelles sister dess being the knight is a very popular interpretation, in mother 3 you had to have read extremely specific dialogue to find the one line in which dess is mentioned to even begin to construct the conspiracy theory that the boss called the roaring knight is secretly this one npc's long lost sister who was consumed by darkness or whatever. and then most of the dream was dedicated to lucas buying groceries
