Ardnahoe Whisky Càraid Ìleach Sherry Quarter Casks No. 2
With the Càraid Ìleach (Gaelic for “Islay friendship”) series, Ardnahoe, Islay’s newest distillery, celebrates its deep connection to the island. Release No. 2 takes this experience to a new level: an expressive single malt, refined with an intense finish in sherry quarter casks.
The smaller volume of these casks noticeably intensifies the interaction between the distillate and the wood. The result is a remarkably multi-layered whisky that, despite its young age, delights with impressive complexity and deep, dark fruitiness.
Ardnahoe is the only distillery on Islay to use cast-iron worm tubs. This traditional cooling method lends the distillate greater body and character—a perfect foundation for the powerful interplay with the intense spiciness of the quarter casks.
