A question or two concerning Quarterlings. If The Good Mister Lockaby derives his Necromantic Powers from his Moon Quarterling Heritage is that an affinity which potentially exists in all Moon Quarterlings and those descended from Moon Quarterlings, or just a talent of Lockaby’s family in particular? If the former, do Sun Quarterlings have some magical affinity which apposes that of Moon Quarterlings or possibly Compliment them?
Each quarterling has their own specific set of abilities and power.
Sun quarterlings tend to have abilities similar to each other, but hold much more power.
Moon quarterlings have a wider range of abilities. They were born with less power, but they are much older than the Sun quarterlings, so they can be more powerful and have a lot of time to learn things.
Sun quarterlings are beings of daylight, and people tend to like them better. Moon quarterlings are still beings of light, but very much embrace the dark, and things that hide in the moonlight. Through their rejection wrought from misunderstanding, they want nothing to do with their sunlit counterparts and tend to have a nasty streak.
Neither want anything to do with the other and are content to let the others do their thing. Usually.
Percival Lockaby’s Moon quarterling parent is the eldest of all the quarterlings. Their main, and strongest abilities, are raising the dead and catching souls before they get to the afterlife. Percival can only raise the dead without their souls, and he cannot catch souls. He can see ghosts and most of the time gain their favor with no effort.
